How safe are your helicopters?

All of our helicopters are modern turbine (jet) engine helicopters noted for reliability and excellent safety records. We run our own maintenance department to ensure our helicopters are always in the very best condition. Please click here to read more about our additional safety features and practices.

I don’t like heights. Will flying be a problem for me?

We have found that most people who are uncomfortable with heights find helicopter flights very enjoyable. You will be seated securely in a comfortable leather seat in one of our luxurious aircraft, which have been specially selected for their excellent safety records and features. We recommend that you look towards the horizon, and we are sure you will soon be enjoying the spectacular views that you can only get from a helicopter.

What weather conditions will prevent my flight from taking place?

While we understand that you may be keen to take your flight on a particular day, weather may become a factor. Microflite will never compromise your safety, and so we may decide to delay or reschedule your flight. Weather conditions that may result in Microflite delaying or seeking postponement of your flight include fog, low cloud, poor visibility, thunderstorms, hail or very strong winds. If you have any questions about the weather, it is best to contact us in the late afternoon the day before, or on the morning of your flight.

If Microflite change my flight due to the weather, is there a charge?

If Microflite change your flight due to weather, in most cases there will be no charge for rescheduling or cancellation. Please click here for more information.

I am pregnant. What do I need to do before I fly?

In most cases, it is fine to fly when pregnant. However we require a medical certificate or letter issued by a registered Doctor for all uncomplicated pregnancies of 28 weeks or more. We are unable to accept pregnant passengers who are more than 38 weeks pregnant for a singleton pregnancy, more than 32 weeks pregnant for a multiple pregnancy, or who have experienced or are experiencing pregnancy related complications.

I am prone to air sickness. What happens if I feel unwell in flight?

Helicopters are less affected by wind gusts than similarly sized aeroplanes, and our helicopters have been selected for smooth flight characteristics, so your ride may be smoother than you think. If you are prone to motion sickness, ensure you look outside the helicopter at all times and try to keep your eyes on the horizon. If you do start to feel unwell, please let your pilot know immediately. Airsickness bags are easily accessible in flight by all passengers if needed.

I have a medical condition. What do I need to do in order to fly with you?

Please contact us to discuss your specific circumstances, and we will be happy to advise you how we can accommodate your needs.
